Übersicht:
Die Diagnose des Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser-Syndroms (MRKH) wird bei folgender
Symptomatik gestellt: Nichtausbildung (Aplasie) von Vagina und Gebärmutter bei Frauen
mit weiblichem XX-Chromosomensatz, funktionsfähigen Eierstöcken und ansonsten äußerlich
unauffälligen weiblichen Geschlechtsmerkmalen. Das Syndrom hat für betroffene Frauen
Unfruchtbarkeit zur Folge, außerdem ist vaginaler Geschlechtsverkehr nicht vollständig
möglich. Mithilfe meist operativer Behandlungsmethoden ist die Herstellung einer
Vagina möglich, welche dann als „Neovagina“ bezeichnet wird. Ein Großteil der Forschungsarbeiten
beschäftigt sich mit solchen Operationsmethoden. Der vorliegende Text bietet eine
Übersicht über die vergleichsweise seltenen Untersuchungen zu psychologischen Aspekten
bei MRKH. Die vorliegenden Studien zeigen heterogene Ergebnisse zu Themen wie Sexualität
und psychische Belastung – einige Arbeiten berichten über Beeinträchtigungen bei
Frauen mit MRKH, andere finden keine Auffälligkeiten. Zu sozialen Aspekten, Selbsterleben
und Umgang mit Unfruchtbarkeit liegen nur wenige, teils anekdotische Angaben vor.
Zukünftige Forschung sollte das Thema breiter betrachten und Zusammenhänge unterschiedlicher
Faktoren mit der Lebensqualität betroffener Frauen erfassen.
